2008: ITALY - FRANCE
FRANCE - Paris ITALY - Milano, Cinque Terre (Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manorola, Riomaggiore), Pisa ROMANIA - Bucharest, Constanta
Get flash to see this map. The initial plan for this trip was about Italy only. In the meantime we said "let's go to Paris too, why not?", so we've changed a little bit our route. ITALY Our first stop was Milano, the second largest city of Italy. The first surprise was the accomodation. We didn't expect to be right in the downtown of Milano city, short walk to Duomo Plazza. The second ... the Duomo itself and the Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery, reputed to be the world's oldest shopping mall. Amazing architecture and very nice enlightened at night. Milano deserve to be named one of the world capitals of design and fashion. A trip in Cinque Terre ("The Five Lands"), Italy is a must. Around 20 km on the west coast with beautiful five small towns build on rocks. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all encapsulated in the Cinque Terre National Park. So be prepared to pay the tax (5 euro/day) if you want to walk by foot through the coastline path. It's wild, safe, stone path through vines and lemon trees with beautiful siteseeings over the sea. I recommend this way than a trip by car via national road. We stayed one night in Corniglia surrounded by vines hills. The words aren't enough to describe the feeling of an old town build on rocks with tiny stairs and nice people. Our days were counted so we leaved the next day, but with a promise to come back and stay more. |
